Material-Plastik Kft. has been a 100% family-owned company since its foundation in 1989. Initially, we focused exclusively on producing advertising bags. Thanks to many years of hard and persistent work, and carefully selected investments, Material-Plastik Kft. has become the leading manufacturer of packaging materials in Hungary and Central Europe. The dynamically developing company is a supplier to many multinational and local market-leading manufacturers of household and public paper products as well as soft-drink, beer and mineral water bottling companies, food and pet food manufacturers. Thanks to the outstanding way our production is organised, we are able to fulfil our customers’ orders on short deadlines. Our technicians provide all the necessary professional assistance for new products.
Since its foundation, Material-Plastik Kft. has been committed to continuous development in all areas of corporate operations, including the establishment of an ideal business site, the employment of qualified staff, the acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery and the establishment of good communication with our customers. We have achieved our current market position as a 100% Hungarian family-owned company without involving any foreign capital and by competing with international plastic industrial companies that are also gaining market share in Hungary. We produce about 15,000 tonnes of packaging materials for the domestic and foreign markets every year.
Since our foundation our primary goal has been to manufacture products of the highest quality, always in line with market expectations, and to provide flexible, fast and accurate customer service.
1989
Material-Plastik Kft. was founded in 1989, at which time we purchased our first film blowing machine and had just four employees.
1990-2000
Over the years, additional film extruders have been put into operation and at the same time several bag making machines have been installed. With this, the company established its position in the production of advertising bags and gained a significant market share over the years.
2001
Thanks to continuous developments, Material-Plastik Kft.’s new production hall was built as part of a greenfield investment. This created space for further dynamic development.
At the same time, we were the first privately owned non-multinational company to install a Windmöller & Hölscher film extruder in Hungary.
2002
We had a OFEM six-colour printing machine installed, which allowed us to fully meet market demands.
2003-2004
In 2003-2004, the focus was on satisfying the customer needs. For this purpose, we had several bag making machines installed, which almost completely covered the market requirements at that time.
2005
In 2005, as a result of continuous developments, a new Windmöller & Hölscher type three-layer film extruder was added to meet increased customer demand. At the same time, the company obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates.
2008
The rapid development of flexo printing resulted in another investment: the company bought a Windmöller & Hölscher Miraflex printing machine.
2011-2012
Another Windmöller & Hölscher three-layer extruder and a Windmöller & Hölscher Miraflex printing machine were also installed to meet increased customer demand.
2015
The expansion of our product portfolio in the direction of Food Contact packaging materials resulted in another investment. A new Windmöller & Hölscher Miraflex printing machine and a Nordmeccanica Super Combi 3000 laminator were installed in 2015.
2017
Thanks to persistent and high-quality work, Material-Plastik Kft. plays a leading role in the production of consumer packaging materials in Hungary and Central Europe.
Within the framework of the largest investment in the company’s history (around EUR 10 million), a new 6,000 m2 production hall will be built, a Windmöller & Hölscher 5-layer extruder and a Windmöller & Hölscher Novoflex printing machine will also be installed.
2023
We are committed to the sustainable development of our business and respect for the environment. In the first round of a multi-stage project, a maximum of 400 kW solar panels approved by the service provider were installed.
